Best Website Builder for a Cleaning Business (2026): Recurring Bookings, Quotes and the Real Monthly Cost

For a cleaning business the stamp goes to Square, starting on its Free plan at $0 a month (US, read 10 Oct 2026). A cleaning company lives on repeat visits, deposits and getting paid on time, and Square's free tier covers the unglamorous core: an online booking site, appointment reminders, unlimited staff calendars, deposits at booking, and invoices that can repeat weekly or monthly. You pay only when a client pays you, at 3.3% plus 30 cents online. Choose it if your work is regular residential cleans. Skip it as your only site if new clients want a price before they book; a quote form on Wix fills that gap, priced below.

What a cleaning site actually needs

Most cleaning clients decide in two steps: is this company trustworthy enough to let into my home, and how much will it cost? The first is answered by reviews, insurance and a clear list of what is included. The second is the hard part, because the honest answer depends on the home. A cleaning website has to handle both, and then make the regular visit run itself.

  • A price guide or a quote form asking bedrooms, bathrooms, frequency and extras, so the client gets a figure without a phone call.
  • Online booking with a deposit, because a cancelled slot on a Friday is income you cannot resell.
  • Recurring visits and billing, weekly or fortnightly, without re-booking each time.
  • Trust proof: insurance, bonding or background checks if you have them, and a checklist of what a standard clean covers.
  • Reviews, gathered where new clients actually look, which is usually your Google Business Profile.

That list is mostly operations. The website's design matters far less than whether the booking, deposit and invoice steps happen without you. We rank every trade by matching its jobs to the cheapest plan that does them; how we rank sets out the method.

Recurring bookings: Square vs Wix Bookings vs Acuity

Square Appointments is part of Square's single plan structure, read on its US pricing page on 10 Oct 2026. The Free plan includes the booking site, reminders, unlimited staff calendars, prepayments, appointment deposits and automatic contracts sent when a client books. Plus, at $49 a month per location with a 30-day trial, adds cancellation policies with no-show fees charged to a card on file, multi-staff appointments, a waitlist, a daily booking limit, Google Calendar sync and 500 text-marketing messages a month. Square's help centre says appointments can be set as recurring from your calendar; we could not confirm that clients can book a repeating series themselves online, so plan to set regulars up yourself after the first visit.

Recurring billing is where Square is strongest. Its invoices can repeat on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly schedule, request a deposit with a separate due date for the balance, and send automatic payment reminders. For a weekly client that means one setup and a paid invoice every week. Start on Square Free and move to Plus only when no-shows or a growing team make its tools worth $49 a month.

Wix and Acuity are the alternatives. Wix Bookings takes paid appointments once the site is on Core, $29 a month annual, the first Wix plan that accepts payments. Acuity Scheduling, read on 10 Oct 2026, costs $16 a month annual for one calendar on Starter or $27 for up to six on Standard, and Standard is the tier that sells packages and memberships with recurring billing. Paired with Squarespace Basic at $19, a two-cleaner team on Acuity Standard pays $46 a month before card fees. Both are good booking tools; neither is cheaper than Square's $0 starting point for a small company.

Decision flow for cleaning businesses: a solo cleaner with regular weekly clients, Square Free at $0 a month with a booking site and recurring invoices; a team that needs a no-show policy, Square Plus, $49 a month for each location; new clients who want a price first, Wix Core at $29 a month with a quote form of up to 50 fields; commercial contracts quoted after a walk-through, Wix Light at $17 a month plus Square Free invoicing.

Quotes and deposits

Instant quotes are the feature every cleaning-business guide promises and few builders actually ship. What a general builder can do is collect the inputs in one go. Wix Core, at $29 a month annual, gives forms up to 50 fields with conditional logic, so a quote form can ask about bedrooms, bathrooms, pets, frequency and add-ons such as ovens or windows, showing only the questions that apply. Core forms can also take a payment, which lets a one-off deep clean be booked and paid in the same step. Wix Light, at $17, is limited to 10 fields per form with no payments, too short for a useful cleaning quote.

For recurring residential work, a published price guide often beats a form: three or four starting prices by home size and frequency, with what each includes. Clients self-select, and the form becomes a booking rather than a negotiation. When a client does book, take a deposit. On Square, appointment deposits are available on every plan; on Wix Core, the quote form or Bookings can take payment. If a quote form is what converts your market, Wix Core is the build, with Square kept for invoicing.

Service-area pages and reviews

Cleaning is booked by neighbourhood, and clients search with a place name attached. A short page for each area you genuinely serve, naming the neighbourhoods and the clean types you offer there, gives search engines a reason to show you, provided each page carries something real: the days your team works that area, a couple of local reviews, any parking or access notes. Twenty near-identical pages with the town swapped will not help.

Reviews do more of the selling than any page. Square's integrations add a Book Now button to your Google Business Profile, Instagram and Facebook, so a client reading reviews can book from the profile without visiting the website at all. Ask for a review in the follow-up after the second or third visit, when the client has seen consistency rather than just a first impression.

Square's real cost is the fee line, which is why the Free-or-Plus choice deserves arithmetic. On Free, online and invoice card payments cost 3.3% plus 30 cents; on Plus, 2.9% plus 30 cents, for $49 a month. The 0.4-point difference pays for Plus at $12,250 a month of card payments taken online or by invoice. Below that, Free is cheaper even before you count Plus's extra tools.

Bar chart comparing Square Free and Square Plus monthly cost, plan plus percentage card fees on online and invoice payments: at $2,000 a month, Free $66 and Plus $107; at $5,000, Free $165 and Plus $194; at $12,250 both $404.25; at $20,000, Free $660 and Plus $629. The 30-cent per-payment fee is left out because both plans charge it.

Two other numbers matter. Bank (ACH) payments on Square invoices cost 1% with a $1 minimum, uncapped on Free and capped at $10 on Plus, so asking commercial clients to pay by bank transfer saves real money on large invoices. And a Hostinger brochure site is $143.52 up front for four years, then $10.99 a month; it is the cheapest page to point people at, but it handles none of the booking. A practical small-company stack is Square Free for operations plus, only if needed, a Hostinger or Wix front page for the quote form and area pages.

Mistakes cleaning businesses make

  • Paying for a website plan to do Square's job. Booking, deposits and recurring invoices are free on Square; do not buy them twice.
  • Taking no deposit. Deposits are on every Square plan; an empty Friday slot is lost income.
  • Staying on Free past the break-even. Above $12,250 a month of online and invoice card payments, Plus is cheaper.
  • A quote form too short to quote from. Ten fields on Wix Light will not cover rooms, frequency, pets and extras.
  • Copy-paste area pages. One real page per area you serve beats twenty with only the town changed.

Cleaning business website FAQ

What is the best website builder for a cleaning business?

Square, starting on the Free plan at $0 a month as of 10 Oct 2026. It includes an online booking site, reminders, unlimited staff calendars, deposits and recurring invoices; you pay 3.3% plus 30 cents on online card payments. Add Wix Core at $29 a month if you need a detailed quote form.

How do I create a website for my cleaning business?

Set up booking and invoicing first: services, prices, deposit rules and your weekly calendar in Square. Then add a front page with a price guide, what a standard clean includes, proof of insurance and reviews, and link your Google Business Profile's Book Now button to the booking site. Area pages come last.

Can clients book recurring cleans online?

Partly. Square's help centre says appointments can be set as recurring from your calendar, and its invoices repeat weekly or monthly on the Free plan. We could not confirm that clients can book a repeating series themselves, so most companies book the first clean online and set the series up from their side.

How much does a cleaning business website cost per month?

From $0 a month on Square Free, plus 3.3% and 30 cents per online card payment. Square Plus is $49 a month per location. A quote-form site on Wix Core costs $29 a month, billed yearly, and Squarespace with Acuity booking is $35. Hostinger's brochure plan starts at $2.99 a month with a 48-month prepay, renewing at $10.99.

Should a cleaning business take deposits?

Usually, yes, especially for first visits and deep cleans. Square allows deposits and prepayments at booking on every plan, including Free, and Plus adds card-on-file no-show fees. Say the deposit rule clearly on your booking page and in the confirmation, so it reads as policy rather than a surprise.
